Take Grand Avenue / Hwy 60 Northwest toward Wickenburg to Castle Hot Springs Road, between Mile Marker “MM” 120 &121 (this is less than one mile before Gates Road in Morristown), turn right, North, this road is paved for about 1 1/2 to 2 miles It crosses over Carefree Hwy watch for the stop sign proceed north then it turns to dirt. About 1 mile further just over the hill at the fork in the road you will go to the left about 1/2 mile, you will see parking on your right-hand side. At the top of the little hill. If you drive past the ranch house up on the hill to your right you have gone too far!
Travel west on Grand Ave. (Hwy 60) from Phoenix, to about 1/4 of a mile past Mile Marker 121, turn south (left) onto Gates Road. About a mile down Gates Road, it will fork. You will see parking off to the left.
I-17 south from Carefree Hwy. take the 303 or the 101 south west to Olive Avenue turns west all the way to the end about 190th Ave. Enter the park from Olive Ave. ($7.00) and stay on the main road ( White Tank Mtn. Rd) until it turns into a dirt parking (Sonoran Competitive Parking) is where we park at the end. A very large open gravel parking area. Look for our trailers.
Directions: From Phoenix, drive north via I-17 to exit 236, Table Mesa Road, turn left, go over the I-17 turn right onto the Frontage Road and cross a cattle guard. You will come to a fork in 1 mile, stay to the right and follow the road past the chain link fence enclosure (Gas Company). You will come to the main fork in .5 miles, turn left. There is a sign (Table Mesa West take it) The parking lot will be 1.2 miles and on the right hand side. Go 1/10th of a mile to park approximately.
Taking Carefree Highway # 74, Turn North at Lake Pleasant Regional Park Entrance, Mile Marker 19. Travel 4.5 miles on Castle Hot Springs Road going to the Stop sign, Turn Left. Continue about 2.5 miles over the bridge on Lake Pleasant past (Bettys Stables) you will come to a sign on the right. (West USA Brittney Brock) and the (new GEC sign) this is really Crown King Road turn Right. Driving on Crown King Road about 4.0 miles to Cow Creek Landing Strip or (BLM Staging) turn right large parking area. Note: The Cow Creek landing strip is about 10.5 total miles from Hwy 74.
Coming from the 74 (Carefree Hwy turn right on the 60 (Grand Ave), past the roundabouts stay on the 60, turn left on Vulture Mine Rd, go past the radio tower and Vulture Peak Rd, turn right on the first dirt road you come up to, you will see a state trust sign there, go down the road until you see the horse trailers. Go slow it is a very bumpy, rutted road.

Directions:#1 From Phoenix, drive north via I-17 take Carefree Hwy. west (about 6 miles) just past Lake Pleasant Road the (traffic light) .1 mile is New River Rd turn north (right). The trail head is 7.2 miles on the left-hand side of the road.
Directions:#2 From the West Valley, go north on Loop 303 to Lake Pleasant Exit, turn north 2.3 miles to the light. Jog west .1 mile and turn northeast on New River Road. The trail head is 7.2 miles on the left-hand side of the road.
Directions: Take US 60 to Wickenburg. Coming into Wickenburg you will pass Burger King and then just this side of Chubby’s Cheese Steak you will see El Recreo Road, which is just before McDonalds. Turn right. Stay to your right as the road turns into Constellation Road. Pass the rodeo Grounds, Pass Sophie Flats turnoff. Travel 1.5 miles more. Come to the Y in the road turn right on to Monarch Trail Road. See GEC signs.
½ mile on the Monarch Trail, road is a large parking lot. Some people call it Lovers Flat, park here.
Directions: West on Hiway 60 (aka Wickenburg Way)
Turn left on Vulture Mine Road (just after Safeway)
You will travel about 3 miles and then turn right into desert parking
Watch for GEC signage.
After mm 22 (past the radio tower)
